A night in Venice

  

Last week, travelling through Northern Italy, we stopped overnight in Venice!  We've been here just 3 months ago but, as you imagine, it's always exciting ...

This time we stayed at the Metropole hotel, which houses the renowned restaurant Met, but unfortunately it was a real disappointment.  

The common spaces are very attractive but the rooms are a disaster! Neglected and smelly (and for the crazy price of this city it's unacceptable!).  

 Finally we drank our cocktails at the famous Harry's bar, surrounded by an old atmosphere; socialized with the bartender, wearing the splendid white jacket, we enjoyed our aperitif sitting at the bar, flipping old photos of Hemingway and Harry in the '30!  Fantastic!
