Dukes Hotel
And here we are back in London for the umpteenth time, the usual double-decker bus, red phone boxes, old taxis - seems us to know the city from always, identical to our old postcard with a printed Queen's face and the British flag ...
Instead, I am sure I could live a lifetime and discover everyday unexpected places, tall glimpses, narrow streets and courtyards that seem forgotten. It is no longer the city that I saw through tourist's eye, but an endless universe!
The hotel where we stayed this weekend is the Dukes Hotel, an ancient building tucked away in a beautiful interior courtyard of Mayfair, immersed in a surreal peace, where the mind seems to detach itself from the 21st century ... In 2011 was the winner of "England's Leading Boutique Hotel" at the World Travel Awards and now, we spent a few nights, we have nicely figured out why.
Given our strong passion for the Martini cocktail, the famous drink that sees Dukes bar as undisputed winner , acclaimed by the New York Times, and birthplace of the famous phrase "shacked up, not stirred" immortalized by the famous character of Fleming's James Bond, we won't let us stop off.
